Der Vierfleck (Libellula quadrimaculata) ist eine Großlibelle, der seinen Namen durch die auffälligen dunklen Flecken auf jedem der vier Flügel im Bereich der markanten Querader erhalten hat. Er fliegt von Anfang Mai bis September. Die Körperlänge ist 40-45 mm, die Flügelspannweite beträgt 70-85 mm.
